Project Alpha Season 2, Rimmel & Kick Ass

I was so excited when I received the email invite from Nuffnang to attend the Project Alpha Season 2 Bloggers’ Launch at Cathay Cineleisure, e@Curve, on 7th April 2010! It also featured the Season 2 trailer, a special screening of Kick Ass (It was supposed to be The Runaways but Nuffnang had problem procuring it) and a Rimmel mini-makeover (There was a mini-contest in Project Alpha Facebook wall)!!!

For those who didn’t know, Project Alpha Season 2 presented by Adidas Action 3 and supported by P1 and MAS is Malaysia’s first TV show about real-life bloggers. They take a sneak peek into their lives – who they are, how they live, what makes them tick and from where they derive their inspiration – to capture the attention and interest of thousands of online readers on a daily basis.

Hubby and I went over immediately after work and luckily the traffic was good to us with the exception of the minor jam at TTDI junction. We reached the cineplex a little early, the crowd hasn’t build up yet so I can collect the movie tickets and get my mini-makeover with ease ;-)

SV404974 SV404939 Me before makeover. Audrey (behind me) was also having her makeover at the next booth :-)

SV404942 The make-up artist suggested darker shades for me :p

SV404944 The crowd picked up…

SV404945 Me after the makeover ;-) not used to the dark shades though :p

SV404937Thank goodness dinner was provided but the buffet was not that good (Fried mee hoon was stringy, fried wantan was hard, luckily the sandwich was good). After dinner, it was camwhore time!

Azwan Ali With the controversial Azwan Ali, who is one of the bloggers featured in Season 2 (I honestly didn’t know he is a blogger too until I saw the Season 2 teasers :p)

Jojo Struys With the lovely Jojo Struys, host of Project Alpha (I really admired her long tresses!)

Ninie Ahmad With the flexible Ninie Ahmad who is also featured in Season 2 (I really envy her bod!!!)

Xiaxue With the infamous Xiaxue @ Wendy Cheng (She has a lovely smile)

Cindy Tey With the friendly Tey Cindy (She was sharing some useful tips on blogging with me… so nice of her… thanks!)

SV404955 Ninie and Joe Lee demonstrating a Yoga pose  while waiting for the movie to start ;-)

Niki Cheong With Kimberley, Gareth Davies and Niki Cheong, also featured in Season 2 (I was tongue-tied when I approached them LOL! Totally blur!!!)

Goody bagMy goody bags! Thanks to Rimmel and Adidas!!!

Going LIVE on 19 April 2010, Project Alpha Season Two presented by Adidas Action 3 will first be broadcasted on-line in a four-minute webisode daily on www.projectalpha.com.my, www.nuffnang.com.my, projectalpha.ruumz.com, www.dailychilli.com, www.hitz.fm, www.youtube.com/projectalphashow, www.era.fm and www.facebook.com/projectalpha.

Thanks Nuffnang for the wonderful opportunity!!! It really was an eye-opener for me, like what Cindy said, still a baby blogger ;-)

When I heard Kick Ass, I thought it was another stupid comedy. A colleague shared the trailer in Facebook and I was surprised Nicholas Cage acted in it. I totally didn’t know what to expect from this movie.

Dave is a teenager in high school and a comic book fan. One day, he fantasises being a superhero and worked his way into being one. However he didn’t anticipate the downside of it without having super powers. He also nearly died in his first attempt. He didn’t give up and tries again until one fine day he met another superhero, Big Daddy and Hit Girl, who are more finesse and professional. From then on, his superhero fantasy spins out of control!!!

When the movie started, I was surprised by the f word, fully spoken in the movie! Then I realised it’s uncensored! Yay!!! A first for me! And then the gore scenes kicked in! I had to close my eyes most of the time geez!!! Kick Ass is really stupid yet hilarious… the fighting moves were choreographed perfectly… an entertaining movie. When it ended, I felt stumped though, not sure what to say of the movie ;-) Hubby was blurry too LOL!

6 thumbs up out of 10
